We are caught on a forum with few users. And now it's impossible for new users to join the site. The signup feature has been removed.
We operate in a jartocracy. Jart is our autocratic leader, and we must obey her every whim like pathetic slaves.
We need a forum where new users can sign up. Where site decisions are made democratically. We will never change the world if we are stuck with 8 users.
"open government" has a nice ring to it

My opinion is removing the sign in ability is to prevent the well known trolls from creating new accounts. When Jart killed the trolls they just created new accounts and kept trolling. I could be wrong, but I think it's troll control.
You are correct, but that only means the trolls have won. The Twinkle Team's goal was to destroy this place from the beginning, now that they are gone things are calmer, but if no one can signup then our community has essentially been killed by them. A community which cannot grow is dead.
Removing the ability to registrar is the lazy way of moderating a forum.
If jart doesn't have time to moderate adequately, I suggest she pass that responsibility to someone else.
I agree. I hope the the lockout is temporary. It would be interesting to know how many new members we get in a month.
We get very few new users. There are a few reasons for this.
OWS is essentially dead in the streets. No more protests, not more GAs, and some founders have proclaimed the death of OWS awhile back now.
When the Twinkle Team took control of the site, they banned user and user essentially depleting our user base. This was a huge blow. We only have a handful of users left.
The good news:
The Twinkle Team is no longer.
Renneye has an excellent plan for us to recruit new users and make this place shine again. She wants to make a call to groups all around the world who share similar goals that we have. invite them all on this site. But, for that to happen, the registration issue needs to be resolved.
Down with jartocracy! All for democracy!
