Trashy went too far this time. If indeed you are not just one compartment of trashy's mind, my suggestion to you, is to sever ties with him. He's going down, and he/you did it to himself/yourself.
Trashy/you can post as though it "looks" like any name he wants. It may as well be the same thing as being able to post under any name.
The only thing anyone here could truly control was their username. They've now found out that isn't true. So people here are reacting naturally. They're thinking "What's the point?".
You say you love OWS. These aren't loving actions. If you want this forum to survive and be a part of the OWS movement, trashy/you have to make the sacrifice and leave for the good of the forum. No-one will trust the postings here so long as you're here.
Thrash is an enemy of OWS. He blames OWS supporters who get brutalized by thug cops for the actions of the thug cops. I shudder to imagine that he has enablers among the moderators. I don't know and I really hope not.

Yes, I do, and I'm fighting for it now. OWS has decided in a GA that it will not become another front for Alex Jones' ideas. The conspiracy theorists are here to make us look bad and waste our time. They are breaking the forum rules, and they must be vanquished at all cost. Draw your sword and fight with me for the sovereignty of OWS. There are already many David Icke sites, but only a few OWS sites. We must fight to preserve our unique identity.
The reason I ask is that I truly agree with most of what you have to say, however, I don't believe in bullying people. I had a long car drive today and I thought of you, flattering right? And I thought, he's a bit like imperialist America or Britain, trying to force his views on others. But, knowing how you think, my guess would be that you do in fact believe in self-determination. So, wouldn't it be better to post good stuff here and elsewhere and hope that these people can come to some kind of determination of their own that these conspiracy theories are bull shit? Wouldn't that be more effective, in the end? To get them to really see the truth on their own terms?
I see it the other way around, OWS has already expressed their self-determination by disallowing conspiracy theories in the forum rules. I am not the one impeding on the self-determination of OWS, the conspiracy theorists who come here to waste our time by breaking the rules and posting off topic illogical rants are.
These are not OWS supports, they are here to soil the movement's reputation. And, IT'S WORKING. I just read a news article yesterday that considered OWS has another 911 Truth branch. You know, OWS has become about US vs THE POLICE and conspiracy theories, it isn't really about Wall Street anymore.
Now, as for bullying people, it depends on how you see it. OWS is based on civil disobedience and has created an artificial division of the 1% vs the 99% in an effort to target and isolate the 1%. And, actually, the conspiracy theorists on this site like Renneye constantly demand to list names of the so called 1% in order for us to target them . That is a form of bullying. We call these people names, and draw pictures of them looking like demons. You're doing that for the 1%, and I'm doing that for the conspiracy theorists on this site. Do you have a problem with that?
P.S. If you think of me when you drive your car, it means you have become addicted with this website and that you should most likely take a step back with a short break.
It's more like the 1% (I use that term loosely) have bullied the rest of us first and we are merely trying to defend against their bullying, Reneye included, when she lists names.
And, why not let the moderators decide which threads to ban? Don't you think you could be more useful as an educator of real facts?
Logical fallacy: Two wrongs don't make a right + you should be targeting those proven to have done corruption. You can't just target whoever has the most money. If you don't agree with a system that makes it possible for some people to be richer than others, then you should complain about that system instead of targeting the top 1% just because they are rich.
I believe in OWS, but the 99% vs 1% rhetoric is pure BS and hides the true problems.
"Real facts" is an oxymoron, and there is nothing false about the notion that conspiracy theories are dangerous. Very dangerous. Furthermore, I often did and still do talk about a vast number of other subjects. Read the forum.

Okay, now you have to tell me why you are so very fearful of conspiracy theories? What real damage do you think they can do? I just think they are so ridiculous that they are powerless, but maybe I'm wrong.
I think they are one of the biggest, if not the biggest problem in America. They distract and waste everyone's time. Thousands of people walk in the streets complaining about 911 instead of asking really serious questions. The discussion with the government on serious subjects has been abandoned because it's being overshadowed by all the conspiracy theory BS. How can you exchange with a government if you believe it is part of the Elite or Illuminati. Almost 50% of Americans believe in 911 conspiracy theories. That should frighten you. Modernity was supposed to bring logic on the table as opposed to pseudosciences, but the opposite it happening. So many people are caught up in pseudosciences or religion.
I truly believe a better society can only be built using logic. That is very hard when more than half of the people are illogical, and when the logical people have to fight with the illogical people every time they present an idea.
Every time someone wastes a millisecond of time to think about conspiracy theories, it's a tragedy.
Pseudosciences, especially conspiracy theories are more dangerous than the governments machinations. Because, once your mind has been corrupted with conspiracy theories you become gullible and lost. Without logic, there can be no better world.
Removing conspiracy theories from OWS and promoting logical thought should be the prime goal at the moment. Else, who's going to take use seriously. We look like a bunch of illogical and senseless teenagers.
Perhaps you don't realize this because you are from US, but your TV shows promote pseudosciences and not science. I'm talking about such sows as MonsterQuest and other nonsense coming from your country.

I'm responding to your post below. It's very true that being American I am used to the ridiculous way many people think....about a lot of things! Not just conspiracy theories, but also the way they feel about religion, their blatant materialism, their defense of an economic system that is strangling them, the dumbing down of their entire nation, etc. etc.
I don't see the conspiracy theory posts as representative of OWS, though, in the same way I don't see troll posts that are conservative and reactionary as representing OWS. To me, they stand out like a sore thumb.
Well, if they don't bother you all is fine and dandy. Don't be surprised though when OWS starts getting a bad reputation by association. Oh wait.. what's this, two recent examples:
Well, Clara, if it's true that those posts show that Alex Jones et al. represent OWS then so do the troll posts that poke fun at poor people, praise capitalism, praise hawks, defend the wealthy, etc. etc.
There is no news agency that claims that OWS pokes fun at poor people, praises capitalism, etc... There are some that make the OWS / 911 Truther connection.
If you don't care about our image, that's fine. Defend the conspiracy theorists all you want. I can respect your opinion. I just ask that you respect mine. I will keep attacking them until they fall to their knees.
I get your point. It's definitely a valid point. The propaganda of OWS supporting conspiracy theories will be used against the movement, as silly as that is. (I think I am just friggin' mind-boggled by what these people believe. I just can't wrap my head around anyone taking this stuff seriously.)

It's still possible because Americans are poorly educated and in general pretty stupid. The same reason can be used to explain that Jerry Springer became a hit TV show in US. It wouldn't have worked in an intellectual country like France.
Quite true. Thrasy can hijack your username. He has mine. The majority of the posts on this forum are from him. Many are from recently joined members, some are from old members like April.
The best way to combat a troll is to not respond to him. A shouting match just encourages him. He feeds off of others emotional pain. Don't feed the trolls!
