Forum Post: OWS actually does NOT want democracy knowing very well the majority,

Posted 14 years ago on March 12, 2012, 1:23 p.m. EST by JesusDemocrat (193)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

much less the 99%, do not want the same things they do and OWS (allegedly "legitimate forum members") only make up a very small minority who are completely intolerant of any desires which differ from their own.

None of you are ready to "tear down the halls of congress" and have qualified voters proactively participate in democracy....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Perot

no more than Americans were ready for this man 20 years ago when saving the nation would have been viable.

JD, and the current political, economic, and cultural establishment does?

I do not meet people at OWS, or have not, who are naive enough to believe we represent the whole 99%.

However, I cannot think of any government that does.

What we are doing is attempting to represent the "interests" of the vast majority of people. Also, I concede that many people do not know what is, or is not, in their interests. The media has most of us locked into irrelevant issues like football, which chick has the nicest ass, which celebrity is fucking which celebrity, and other meaningless crap. The type of crap that crowds the conscious mind, and turns a person into a mindless, irrational, reactionary being.

An example would be a young person going off to fight the war on terror. Most have no concept of what they are getting into. They have a media constructed belief as to what their actions will mean. When most ground pounders hit dirt they are in a killing field where ideology and beliefs are irrelevant. The only matter of importance is survival. Their daily life is filled with the terror of how and when they may be killed, wounded, or permanently maimed or disfigured, physically or mentally.

OWS repents hope. The failed corporate capitalists' model has brought this nation misery, hunger, failure, lies, corporate thief, war, basically, pain.

OWS, with all its flaws, represents the possibility of a future for this nation. The current system does not represent anything, expect the 1%.

There is a HUGE difference between representing everyone's opinions and representing their economic and political reality. There is a difference between identifying how 99% of the people have been screwed - that OWS represents the reality of that and anger about it, - and making demands that purport to represent the 99%, which OWS has not done since it makes NO demands.

[-] -1 points by OWSJesus (20) 14 years ago

Oh but wait......... you said OWS is democracy! How can that be without specific objectives and very succinct demands?

Well, it simply cannot be.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

OWS functions as direct democracy in the communities it forms in protests and encampments, the working of its general assemblies, and in its alliances with other organizations. It models direct democracy, it lives direct democracy, it is a democratic organization. What the fuck is so difficult to understand about that?

[+] -4 points by OWSJesus (20) 14 years ago

Really? I've already read, here no less, how many GA's ditched democracy for all the reasons it does not work. I've also been to several and found it less than amusing to see it failing in person.

You really should be occupying someplace important besides the net.

[-] 3 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

Which GA's ditched democracy? I've not heard of one.

And to your assertion that it "failed" does that mean that OWS abandoned democracy, or instead that meetings got frustrating and nothing much was accomplished? Those happen to be two different things.

OWS was founded, and continues to operate, on principles of direct democracy. It practices it every single day. It has not abandoned the principle or practice. That the practice can be frustrating and slow and is the nature of the beast, and can lead to failed meetings. But to claim, absurdly, that OWS is non-democratic is nothing less than a bald faced lie.

GFY and learn to use the search feature half as well as your sock puppets.

You have about as much clue as what all others involved are as I have golden monkeys flying out my ass.

[-] 3 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

You made the assertion, therefor you provide the proof. That's how it works.

Choke to death on your own lies. Drown in the bile you spew into the world.

Or be safe by ceasing to lie or spew bile.

[-] -1 points by JesusRepublican (110) 14 years ago

You really are a badass, aren't you? I'm completely terrified of you and wish I could do something so you wouldn't try and muss my perfect hair if we ever met.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

You should be completely terrified of yourself. The karma you accumulate is enough for several lifetimes of pure hell.

[-] 0 points by SatanRepublican (136) 14 years ago

I provide you nothing except truth. If you need it verified, go do it lazy welfare rat. The discussions of it took place on this forum and elsewhere on the net.

That's how it works between me and you.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

No, sir, that's not how debate works. If one makes a claim, it is up to that person to back that claim up.

Funny, though, how you claim to be the one I just responded to, since I responded to someone whose username is JesusDemocrat, not SatanRepublican. How "truthful" is it to post under different manes to conceal who you are? Even your manner of posting is mendacious.

[-] 0 points by JesusRepublican (110) 14 years ago

Surely you do not think any self-respecting person engages the likes of you in a formal debate?

Nope, we just like to show others what a mental deficient you are, like your peers say, Jared Loughner's clone. BTW, please get help and once they get you on meds, take them as prescribed.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

Since you have produced nothing but lies and distortions, even in the very use multiple usernames, with proof, no one can assume you present anything other than lies. You outlandish suggestion is one big fail, as is your pathetic excuse of ethics.

Then again, no expectation of truth from you ever existed here since your first presented you lying ass here.

Broken anything does not work. That goes for democracy. Fix it. Then it works. Let's be rational and not semantical. You fool no one but the fool who is you.

[-] -2 points by OWSJesus (20) 14 years ago

However, democracy has always failed........

[-] 2 points by Quark2 (109) 14 years ago

No & yes depending on perspective, government is cyclical like the seasons so this is actually par for the course. It's what to be expected when a season comes near an end. These are the natural rules that govern people, inescapable.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

So has everything else.

Well of course the OWS is KalleLasn who is CIA ( CANVAS/SOROS ),

The 99% are to be controlled by the 1%. Duh.

We are the 99%, that's just a slogan for the SHEEP, but the folks that control the OWS are 1%-er's to the bone and the bank.

Does anyone ever think for a moment why SOROS the richest man in the world paid for the CANVAS/OWS Operation in the first place? Every 'arab spring' on earth was controlled by the CIA using CANVAS.

So SOROS money pay's for this OWS forum server and this is good, ... sort of reminds me of the old trojan horse, ... all come to play and then know where the problem children live, ... when it comes time to detain you.

OWS IS democracy. It is democracy in action. They are making no demands on other people's view of democracy. They are simply operating on democratic principles.

Go to a GA, then tell us OWS does not believe in practicing democracy.

[-] -3 points by HoarFriday (27) 14 years ago

Just watch and see how few people hold your views and want the same things you do. What you want you will never get and I'm going to continue laughing my ass off at your stupid deranged ass.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

We already have it. Keep laughing. We are living democracy. Your very presence on these fora, as disgusting as it is, is testament to democracy. Anywhere else would have banned your ass a long time ago.

[-] 1 points by JuanFenito (847) 14 years ago

So you wouldn't ban him if you could? Okay good, I'm glad we are all tolerant here.

[-] -2 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

I didn't say I was an anarchist. I would ban him in the blink of an eye. I don't share the feeling that people should be allowed to use OWS's openness in order to destroy the movement that extends that openness.

[-] -2 points by JesusDemocrat (193) 14 years ago

Not even close, in your mind you may have, but not in the real world.

I have read you vile posts, and know enough about what you call thinking to know that you are a viscous, hateful piece of scum, whose presence here is trolling. Your contempt of the poor, the working class, women, and everyone else apparently, infects your posts like anthrax. You a re a right wing asshole, come here, to the website of the left, begun and sustained by leftist anarchists, to disrupt the this movement and all it stands for.

You came here to spew your hate and judgement. You are pig who expects pearls and are offended when you get what you deserve instead.

Go to your Heritage Foundation roost, your CATO bungalow. That is your "haus," Nazi scum, not here.

Other than that, you simply are clueless.

Ross Perot crumbled before the eyes of the nation. He began ranting about the federal government threatening his family, etc.

This is a quotation from the link you gave: "By mid-July, the Washington Post reported that Perot's campaign managers were becoming increasingly disillusioned by his unwillingness to follow their advice[22]...his need to be in full control of operations[22] with such tactics as forcing volunteers to sign loyalty oaths.[23] Perot's poll numbers began to slip to 25%... Ed Rollins resigned after Perot fired advertisement specialist Hal Riney... Rollins would later claim that a member of the campaign accused him of being a Bush plant with ties to the CIA... The next day, Perot announced on Larry King Live that he would not seek the presidency... Perot eventually stated the reason was that he received threats that digitally altered photographs would be released by the Bush campaign to sabotage his daughter's wedding.[26] Regardless of the reasons for withdrawing, his reputation was badly damaged."

Ross Perot displayed many admirable traits, but as the campaign progresssed his behavior became more and more erratic. By the time he re-entered the campaign, he had lost most of his support.

As for OWS, I'm happy you feel entitled to speak for the group, which remains leaderless, but feel free to step to the forefront.

[-] -3 points by JesusRepublican (110) 14 years ago

Do you doubt that a political machine, with it's vast resources and wherewithal, that has passed all the recent laws even, right in your face.... would think anything of killing the family members of a guy like Perot, or you for that matter?

[-] 3 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 14 years ago

Not at all, answers your question, but, as a personal witness to the events of Ross Perot's campaign and an early supporter, I can honestly say the man seemed to drift into neverland as the campaign approached election day of 1992.

[-] 3 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 14 years ago

No, to your question. He might have won, if he had managed to keep his campaign together; of that I have no doubt. The American people at large were very disillusioned with both parties.

[-] -2 points by HoarFriday (27) 14 years ago

That was the very first of real awakening, back when elected officals getting caught accepting even small amounts of "soft money" or "pac money" brought huge public outrage. It is interesting to study the path from there to here as far as the public acceptance of elected officials and their blatant treasonous paths to wealth accumulation.

Ross was no dummy and the public was indeed eating out of his very well intentioned hands. He took a dive, there is no doubt. I wish it had happened differently.

[-] 5 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 14 years ago

It's too bad that our society has degenerated to the point that now when someone works at Taco Bell, many people look at that person as somehow dull and incapable, rather than as a victim.

Ross Perot predicted economic conditions far ahead of his time. Then people listened; now they pay attention to jerks and spout a party line.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

Sure, but Perot was always a part of the problem, too. He is a 1%er through and through. He made his money through government contracts and exploitation. his fortune was made manipulating Medicare and Medicaid. He was the consummate Washington insider. He only opposed NAFTA because it would cut onto his business at the Texas border.

[-] 2 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 14 years ago

True, true. Who knows; maybe that schizophrenic dichotomy--trying to "save" American workers while exploiting them--triggered his public meltdown.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

Who knows, indeed. I mean, this was a guy who literally had surveillance devices installed in his employee's homes but freaked out when his family was investigated during the campaign.

[-] 1 points by JesusDemocrat (193) 14 years ago

Why would it have mattered so much if the corrupt and for salecontress had been replaced with democracy? What, because he'd have owned the technology the electronic town square would have used?

The same problem still exists today IF the people were to step up and demand it.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 14 years ago

Perot was a lunatic. He lied. He preformed surveillance on his employees. He was sexist. He was paranoid. He was a government-made billionaire. He was exploitive. He was a hypocrite. He was a nut job.

Sorry, but that doesn't seem to me to any kind of alternative. The very best that could be said about him was that he was no better than what we got. I believe he would have been a lot worse.

[-] 0 points by HoarFriday (27) 14 years ago

Indeed, do you recall, in this same timeframe when Al Gore's cell phone call (back when the phones were the size of large bricks) was intercepted, while he was on an airplane flight, and got caught red handed accepting a mere $10,000 of soft money? It was a huge scandal. So, Al was the desensitizing fall guy as since then, you've heard very little else about anyone doing it and in fact, IT'S PUBLIC RECORD how many billions the DC bastards have funneled into their insatiable greedy bank accounts!

Back then it made the world news....... huge scandal.

We've come a long wrong way since those times.

[-] 3 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 14 years ago

No, I do not recall Al Gore's cell-phone incident, but it certainly sounds like something he'd get himself into.

$10,000! That wouldn't buy a politician's wink today.

[-] 1 points by SatanRepublican (136) 14 years ago

That was enough money to have him committing to do exactly what was asked, he named his price during the conversation. It was a huge scandal.

I know him and have caught large striped bass in his back yard on the Caney Fork River.

All the folks in DC were doing the same thing back then, very few were ever caught so red handed. I suppose Tipper made him plenty of enemies trying to impose all her draconian morals on kids that liked hard rock.

I'd still like to get her autographs on all my WASP albums.

[-] 2 points by Quark2 (109) 14 years ago

WASP, now that was fun. Metal Rules!

[-] -1 points by JesusRepublican (110) 14 years ago
