=> UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Sunday, February 26, 2012 JST at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.[1] Due to the time zone difference, it will air live on Saturday, February 25 in North America.

The event will mark the UFC's first event in Japan since UFC 29. The UFC has confirmed that the event will feature seven fights on the main card. The expected run time of the PPV is four hours, compared to the typical three hours. George Sotiropoulos was expected to face Takanori Gomi at this \event, but was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Eiji Mitsuoka.[2] Leonard Garcia was expected to face Zhang Tiequan at this event, but was forced out of the bout with an injury.[3] Issei Tamura will step in for Garcia and fight Zhang.[4] At the UFC 144 weigh ins, Quinton Jackson failed to make the 206 lb weight limit and came in 5 lbs overweight at 211 lbs. Jackson was fined 20 percent of his earnings and the bout will be contested at a catchweight of 211 lb

The rumors of Quinton Jackson having a lousy training camp appeared to have been true based on his condition when he stepped on the scales tonight in Tokyo. The former UFC light heavyweight champion missed the 205-pound limit by six pounds at 211. The non-title fight will go on as planned with Jackson giving up 20 percent of his purse to Bader. Based on Jackson's salary from recent fights, that amount could be in the $50,000 range. Jackson was paid $250,000 in his fights at UFC 130 and UFC 135. Even at 211, Jackson's face showed the wear of trying to make weight. He was also a little softer than normal in his chest. Both main event fighters, Frank Edgar and Benson Henderson, made weight for their UFC lightweight title fight at 154 pounds. Henderson, the much bigger fighter, was incredibly cut in the midsection. Rich Franklin, serving as an analyst on Fuel TV, called Jackson's miss "ridiculous." The injury, which Jackson would not disclose, was healed later in camp, but by then he was still very heavy. Jackson said he woke up at 3 a.m. local time to cut weight and he was only able to go from 232 down to 211

This Saturday's UFC 144 will mark the UFC's first trip to Japan under Zuffa ownership. An event that will be crucial to the future health of the sport in Japan, UFC 144 has been stacked with a lightweight title fight and a number of popular Japanese fighters.

In the card's main event, lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar will attempt to defend his title for a third straight fight.

Looking to dethrone the champion will be former WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson, who has not lost since joining the UFC.

The event will also feature a battle between top light heavyweights Quinton Jackson and Ryan Bader. The fight will mark Jackson's first fight in Japan since his days with Pride. Indeed, "Rampage" will have plenty of motivation to please the fans that helped him become the fighter he is today.

Before Saturday's event, the fighters will hit the scales at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on Friday at 11 p.m. ET. Video of the weigh-ins will be streamed live on the below video player.
